“I came across 212 6 months ago while looking for a new workout. I had no idea how AWESOME this place is! The classes are super challenging but also really fun. Everyone is very friendly and encouraging. It always has such a positive vibe! A few months ago, I decided to try the Nourish Nutrition program. BEST DECISION EVER!!!! I have been through different programs and have followed meal plans form trainers before, and I thought I had a pretty good idea what a healthy diet looked like, but I learned a TON!!! Josiah was great at teaching me how to fuel my body with proper nutrition, how to set and achieve S.M.A.R.T goals, and how to let go of my all or nothing, super restrictive mindset! “I started working out at 212 when I was newly pregnant with my second baby. I am really good at talking myself out of working out, “I’ll do 60 min of cardio”, turned into, “I’ll just do 30 min and lift some weights”, turned into, “I’ll just do a quick 20 min on the elliptical.” I needed more structure and found that at 212. I love going in and having my workouts planned for me, and I like that the instructors are there to hold me accountable. The team environment and being able to see the same friendly faces each week is also fun.
Since I was active before my pregnancy, my OBGYN was supportive of me continuing my workout routine during pregnancy. Josiah was great at still including me in the workouts even though my belly was getting bigger each month. The modifications allowed me to still get in a good workout, and I was able to go at my own pace and intensity. The post-workout good vibes kept me in a positive mental space too.
I attended classes 2x/week and worked out until 2 weeks before I had my baby. On March 22, 2017 we welcomed a healthy baby boy! My postpartum recovery was quick and felt much easier than with my first baby*. I think part of it was because I was so active during my pregnancy. When my baby was 6 weeks old I got clearance from my OBGYN to resume my workouts at 212. Starting back at the gym is always hard, and even though I’m still 5 lbs away from my pre-pregnancy weight, I’m so excited to get back after it!”

“This is my spine; June 18, 2013. I had been diagnosed with scoliosis when I was in high school, and I have lived with low back pain all of my life. The pain was getting so bad that I went to an orthopedic MD, and had measurements done. I remembered that I had been told that my curve was approximately 40” when I was 16 yrs old. This was back “in the old days”, when they didn’t have the technology we have now. I wore a back brace for a year back then..gosh what a terrible year!!
I was told last year that my curve was 40″, so I was optimistic…my back hadn’t changed much in 30 years. But, I still had that constant nagging low back pain.
I joined 212 Fitness in August of 2013, and have been dedicated to improving my fitness over the past year.
I went to the same ortho yesterday, almost one year to the day from my last appointment. He told me that my curve now measures 37″!!!! 3’ of change in one year!
I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that this change is from all of the core strengthening and overall exercises at 212 Fitness. And it’s not just the change in the curve. It’s the absence of pain in my lower back. To someone who has lived with this constant pain throughout my life, you cannot believe the blessing it is to be pain free. I haven’t had that nagging, terrible pain for months. No pain. No ibuprofen daily. HALLELUJAH!!!!!

“My doctor gave me 6 months to improve [my LDL levels] or I had to go on a statin (cholesterol lowering drug).
Three reasons that I can think of:
1. Regular exercise with intense short cardio (and the occasional Spartan Beast)
2. Getting a Vitamix and drinking fruits and vegetables
3. Eating better overall (but not perfectly, many cheat days other than the official one)

As for trainers, Josiah is as good as it gets. I have gotten so much out of working with him. He is motivated to help you achieve your fitness goals. He is very knowledgeable about anatomy, musculature, and movement. I appreciate his attention to form and his ability to demonstrate functional form in a way that is understandable and keeps you free from injury. His classes have everything you need; interval work, weight training components, cardio, and stretching. You get results fast*! -Christine S.
I’ve been doing OverDrive with Josiah for over a year now, and I’m more of a fan than ever. My experience at 212 Fitness has been my favorite and the most effective. I’m in the best shape of my life and continue to make progress! Josiah is the master at training each person in the group at their level and is a stickler for proper form to prevent injury. The program is different every day & methodically hits every angle of fitness; endurance, sprints, strength, balance, flexibility- it’s all in there. 212 fitness is great! Josiah knows how to make the workouts challenging, but still enjoyable enough to make you want to come back.. The class sizes are small, and it feels like a team effort to accompish your goals.
