Building Better Habits

March 14, 2017

I had a couple 212ers share this article from the New York Times about giving up sugar for a month (although the 212 Slash also eliminated juice…just sayin’).Not only is there a bunch of great info on why eliminating sugar is a good thing, but the author also talks about habits. For better or worse, most of us tend to be creatures of habit. The reality is that bad habits are easy to get into (think hitting the snooze button instead of waking up to exercise, or reaching mindlessly into that candy jar at work). However, the good news is that healthy choices can become your habit, and they get easier over time. It’s been super motivating to hear how many of you were able to set new healthy habits during the Slash, and how many of you are easily maintaining those new habits. But don’t stop there! Keep the momentum going and aim to set at least one new healthy habit during March. Your momentum from February really will help you continue your progress and you may be surprised at how easy setting a new habit can be!
